Wall Clock

Image
I wanted to have a large wall clock for the living room to take up wall space. I found some but I thought they were kind of expensive, and one day it seriously just hit me! It was pure inspiration! I can make my own!!! Since I was on a tight budget it took me awhile to get the project completely done but it was worth it. So I bought a clock kit at a craft store. I didn't take pictures as I was working on the project but I have some pictures that should help you see how I made it anyway. Here are some different clock kits you can buy. They have different sizes, and the black box you see is where the mechanisms and batteries go. Honestly, I had someone else put it together for me but I read the instructions so I know it's easy to assemble your self.  I thought the mechanism box was kind of ugly, and I wanted to hide it. I bought this wood applique, and painted it black. Then I drilled a hole in the middle so the little screw coming from the mechanism box was stickin

Bookcase to DVDcase

This was super easy! I found this bookcase by the dumpster and kept it at its natural wood color for awhile. Then when I started doing the side tables I realized that most of my furniture would match if it were black. Plus the corner where it was currently at was where one of the new side tables was going to go. I had a space underneath where my TV was at that I wanted to store my DVDs so I painted it black and turned it on its side.   By the way, in case you were concerned about the size of my TV, I have a bigger TV now at 42". LOVE IT!!!

Side Table Makeover

I should have taken before pictures of the tables but this was before I decided to start blogging my projects. What you will learn about me is that I love doing makeovers and I'm super cheap! I think I'm creative too haha so that helps ;) I was needing a coffee table or side tables for my living room. I live in a one bedroom apartment, and it's my first place by myself. I've lived with roommates before but never really had to furnish the apartments. I had basic things like a mattress, and my parents gave me a mini recliner that we had bought years ago. I had two dressers that were made out of the coated particle wood but the hardware didn't match (that's another project for another day). So I'm in the process of making my place into a home where things match and all that. Much more grown up. I figure since I'm 27 it's time for me to start having matching furniture etc. Ok so back to the tables (you'll also find me rambling a lot which I will tr
